Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» Did those of you with a "special someone" in your lives give him/her a Valentine Card to show your love? A gift , a hug, a kiss?
Just a hug and a kiss Rosie.......They are the best meaningful ways of showing you love them......being there for them when needed works wonders to..... even from friends across the pond......empathy from other far and wide can sometimes work wonders... Xxx
Indeed. Jim and I start off each day with a kiss and a hug and we also end each day that way. So romance in your 80's is not a rumor or a wish or a fantasy. It's a reality depending entirely of course upon whether you are with your true love. Now I don't know whom that is for you but I know you. I surely hope that person is worthy of thee D! :)
Very wise grasshopper! Thank you for your reply D. I'm glad your parents have been such excellent role models for you. I think that makes a big difference in how you react when it's your turn. :)
Have you ever heard of Sam Maloof D? An American treasure who built beautiful furniture. He had a studio not too far from where we lived...about 40-50 miles... and Jim went on a tour there one day when Mr. Maloof was still alive. It was an all-day thing. Cost $90 and Jim bought a book covering all the beautiful things Mr. Maloof made. Not too long after Mr. Maloof passed away and I'm so happy that Jim was able to meet him and listen to him and tour with others in the "shop" and home and also meet his wife. There were artists in wood there doing what they did every day so the folks on the tour could watch them create. What is your heart's desire vis a vis a profession D? Follow in the footsteps of your father? I expect you are quite artistic and wouldn't that be a wonderful way to spend your days creating beautiful things? Just wonderin'. Thank you for your reply. When the right one finds you well you will know. Don't compromise. You won't be happy ever after if you do! :)
I can't say as I enjoy doing what I do Rosie.......There is a lady called Titan that works in east London.....she has a studio making furniture....she does quite well, but it's over priced for what it is....
Ive never liked anything better than working with my dad ....There is no room in London to go to work......it's just impossible to take a van or truck in.....it's impossible to park and the police and traffic wardens act like the Gestapo ....
Yes ,I would like to work in wood ...or something environmental.....working in a forest would be nice to I think...
I've never been a fan of Valentine's Day - a holiday invented by Hallmark to sell greeting cards and make single folks feel bad about themselves. A hug, a kiss and a little gentle groping was what we shared - like every day.
I agree with thee in theory SBF. But I LOVE sparkle. When we exchange cards for whatever reason on whatever holiday Jim always makes sure mine are very sparkly and I do likewise. Things don't prove love. Actions do. I have never been a high-maintenance dame. You know the type who expects gifts and flowers and candy and grand gestures and soft lights and music yadayadayada " romance". That's not me. I appreciate the kind sweet little quiet unpretentious things he does. They are of much greater value to me. But a sparkly card pleases me greatly. It warms my heart. It tickles my fancy. The sparklier the betterer. Different strokes. Thank you for your reply and Happy Wednesday! :)
