Ask yourself, do you dislike being attacked just a bit more than you dislike pepper spray?
Nearly anything can become a weapon, used properly. You should be aware of the chances of your weapon being turned against you.
If you ask me, a screwdriver beats nothing, but not by much.

I would be terrified to use it.  I am better at throwing things like a corrosive liquid at someone.   Maybe a blowtorch too.

But never would I use something I need to stab someone with.  That is too risky.  And gross.

I would prefer they didn't even know I was attacking like a nice poison.

Insect repellent in a pressure pack. Ever get that stuff in your eyes? WORSE than pepper spray.

A big screwdriver is unwieldy, a little one is better - but unless you have a LOT of weight and muscle to put behind it, it won't be terribly effective. This post was edited by Slartibartfast at February 28, 2018 4:13 PM MST

    Thanks for the info.
I'll take your word about the bug spray.
I might as well grab a lighter while I'm at it.

Nope. It would be a lot more brutal, a lot more harder to use, and way more dangerous to yourself if tried using that as a substitute. Guns, tazers and pepper spray are very common because they're very easy to use and very effective. Knifes are only good at close range. I would rather use a sword or a bat to have a bit of distance.

Ann icepick would be a lot better, Screwdrivers usually get their tip filed blunt at the factory- That makes it quite difficult to make them penetrate muscle tissue.

FYI a tactical pen is a lethal weapon and you can carry it on an airplane. About twenty bux at Amazon.
