What aspect of your parent's life or parents' lives have you been determined NOT to emulate? ~

    The number one thing I don't want to emulate from my parents is getting a divorce.  My hubby's parents are also divorced so yeah, definitely don't want to be like them.

    Generally have not thought in such terms except for wanting to live a happier life than they had.  They were not perfect and both drug-dependent but as I age I'm more willing to see them as having perhaps done the best they could under the circumstances.  Which I was unwilling to acknowledge living with them or to some extent even while they were living.

    Blaming others for my pain.  In the end, we pretty much get to choose who we have in our lives.  The past is over and my happiness is up to me.
