Discussion»Questions»Politics» If it was learned that Trump impregnated Stormy Daniels (or any other poor woman he had sex with) and paid her to have an abortion,
I despised Bill Clinton from the first time I heard him lie about getting high. I never voted for him. Because even in my philosophical infancy, I believed that character counts. (A concept that's clearly foreign to you).
I don't see that as being true at all. I could never counsel anyone to get an abortion but I would not stop them. My husband and I were not really Trump "supporters", rather we supported more traditional conservative candidates. Trump is more a liberal. Yet we did vote for Trump as he agreed to protect many conservative causes.
Many have said that had Trump not flip-flopped on abortion (prior to this presidential run, he openly supported even late term abortions remaining legal, with no government involvement), he would have never received the nomination, and I believe that to be 100% true.
We all know what "traditional conservative" is code for.
I would not defend it. I don't defend any of his personal actions. But as long as he continus to support pro life laws and appoint pro life judges...that is what counts on this issue. It certainly would be no reason to vote for a pro choice candidate, now would it?
