Yes. Chaldean culture is quite patriarchal, a marriage not approved by the patriarchs of both families would be unthinkable.

?? Chaldea dates roughly 3,000 years ago. Modern people sometimes say "Chaldean" when they want to avoid saying "Assyrian".
