Have you ever thought that if you were a child now, you would surely have been diagnosed with some kind of disorder?

#Me, too.

I take the view that while some are misdiagnosed, e.g. my bug bear is kids being diagnosed ADHD when they are just plain naughty..that doesn't help those who really do have ADHD.  I still believe there are many going undiagnosed even today -it's not in school's interests to assess and diagnose because then they have to support said kid.. so many are falling through the net

In the past that was even more so... my mum, I am so sure had ADHD and she had the most awful time, never understanding why she was - she gave herself such a hard time and ended up dying way too young and *self-medicating* which also contributed to her death. Knowing what I saw made me vow my kids would get diagnoses and not suffer as she did. Unfortunately they still did suffer but at least they know there's a reason

  • If I also carried my current baggage I would be a wreck about to grow up doing bad things.  It's good not to be able to go back.

This is true, and not my point at all. :)

I agree with your premise here.  Children are big business for the ineffective mental health industry and big pharma.

I`v thought about that a lot and concluded that I  would certainly have a few disorders if I was a kid these days. I use public transportation  and I see a lot of students going home from school 60% of them seem to have the Jimmy Legs (nervous  leg and or foot twitch). When I was a kid  there were very few kids that had the Jimmy Legs now it.s 60% of then so something must be wrong with the society kids are growing up in.  Cheers and happy weekend!

I believe that much of what's going on with humans is due to things in the environment (genetically modified food, food additives, pollutants, etc.). Technology and media "advancements" have certainly contributed, too. It's a different world, no doubt.

    Same to you! :)

Which it it? Randy, you're really slipping.

Grammatical errors aside; thanks again for these trips down memory lane!

    It's the tildes, of course.

    It's always about the tildes.

Don't worry. I'm 99.99% sure that no one besides you would come back to this in 3 years and correct grammar.
