Looking it up I found they had used clorine gases (usually called tear gas) Same as you have in mace. In the US private citizens are allowed to posses that (but not use it AFAIK).
Now if it had been Napalm (stick to people while burning) or Agent orange (make plants drop their leaves so people cannot hide there) I am sure Trump would be more forgiving, there are a long tradition for using those.

Chlorine gas (Cl2) is entirely different from tear gas, 2-chlorobenzalmalononitrile (C10H5ClN2) or mace aka capsaicin, 8-Methyl-N-vanillyn-trans-6-nonenamide (C18H27NO3), not a gas but an atomized liquid spray, it's the agent in chili peppers that makes them hot.
Hoping he won't use sending troops to battle Assad's regime as a diversion to his being furious and stewing for the Michael Cohen recent problems, you can add StormyDavis to that too.
