You can "follow the FACTS" so far you even convict yourself! If you have the leisure or the inclination. Most of us have better things to do with our lives than "follow the FACTS". What "fact" becomes ever more clear here is that there is some kind of vendetta at work here that if pushed far enough will make a martyr out of Trump. Which really he does not deserve - and I voted for him. But the way many people see it is if it can happen to him it can happen to them which raises the whole specter of totalitarianism.
Are they actual facts or simply evidence that may or may not turn out to be a fact. If said evidence turns out to be true, how long the investigation lasts depends on the severity of the crime. If it's a matter of national security then you should take as much time as necessary until the threat is stopped. If it's a matter of a quick fling in the bedroom then an investigation would be wasting tax payer dollars. One needs to have enough common sense to know when an investigation is warranted or not. :)
You get a report of a dead body and go out to investigate. On your way you encounter other dead bodies. Do you ignore them or do you also investigate them? That is what we are talking about here ru. Until you investigate something you can't possibly know if it relevant or not. Right? I'm gonna ask. Thank you for your reply.
A investigation which goes on a fishing expedition to pry on matters irrelevant to national security without respect to the confidentiality of discussions between a client and his lawyer may produce FACTS, but they are not admissable as evidence in court but may only be used as blackmail. Such an investigation does go too far and has no place in a civilised society.
