Not an actual 'injury' that was caused by an outside force, I suffered a cerebral hemorrhage that would kill most people. My brain was operated on 6 times. This was in 1958, and the surgery was very risky.
My Mother had a subarachnoid hemorrhage around the same time (coincidentally), before I was born. She had radiation burns from having extensive x-rays, but managed to live past 80. Glad you recovered, I'm sure the medical treatments and technology then weren't as advanced as today.
Cut off two fingers on the left hand with a mitre saw. called 911 first thing they said was where are the fingers? found them...very weird... spent 21 days in hospital, they sewed them back on, two weeks later they had to remove them, infection had set in...life is a gas...hahaha
I've never had a truly serious injury. I fell off my bike in high school and it caused a nasty gash in my leg whose scar was visible for years afterward, but nothing worse than that.
About 18 months ago, I fell and broke both arms, requiring surgeries including a shoulder replacement. I also had 18 stitches on my leg as a toddler. I still have the scar, but no memory of the incident.
I shudder to think of your arms injury JaneS... Best regards to your present conditions...
