Have any wars ever been fought over grammar? ~

I can think of several wars fought over the issue of how the Bible should be interpreted.

Yes!  In fact, I fought in several of them back when I was in school.  Although I winned a few battles, I ain't never won a war.

My GranMar was and absolutely stunning blonde lady when she was in her teens......I would think many guys fought long arduous  battles trying to get two grips on her.....
My answer can only be yes  ......:(

In "The Wizard Of Oz" by L. Frank Baum there is a race of people with one foot. They went to war with another race because one of them said they had less understanding. It eventually came to court and the offending guy was asked to explain his remark. He said it was a reference to the single foot. When he said less understanding he meant less stand-undering.

Well, beginning in 1952, East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) actually went to war with West Pakistan (now [simply] Pakistan) over the right to continue to speak and keep the country's national language as Bangla/Bengali as opposed to Urdu.  To my knowledge, it's the only such war fought over a language and/or writing system.
