    You start on the outside and work your way in, unless it's a very small fork turned sideways.
    You use that one to polk the guy sitting next to you.

    OMG, shrimp cocktail.  You just struck a chord with me.  Sounds really good right now.  I have so much food in this house right now, Nothing, and I mean nothing sounds good except shrimp cocktail.

    Yes, but regardless of their intended function, I do have preferences related to weight, balance, and number of tines.

    Snails are the only exception to my general opinion that the size of the fork doesn't matter.
