"It's pretty hot/cold/rainy" is a lot less apt to cause an argument with climate change deniers (or anyone else), than "It's pretty hot/cold/rainy because of all the pollution that the United States (and no other country) produces. Don't you think that all the horrible weather we're having is due to carbon emissions in Middle America?"I have a standard response for most "climate" related questions as opposed to "weather" related questions. I read an article in Scientific America where baby baboons would sit near an older "child" baboon. When the older child baboon had dug up a root or bug that the younger baboon could not get to; they would scream as if in pain and mom baboon would run up and scare off the older child baboon. Meanwhile, the little one happily eats whatever the older child baboon was forced to leave behind. So lying and treachery are not exclusive to humans. I agree, but as the "independent counsel" investigating the Russia allegations shows, there isn't much objectivity in Washington DC.

RoseS replied to Justice should be swift for MAXIMUM POSITIVE effect. What is the value of justice delayed for 30 years, 40 years, more? Why?:
Because lawyers (who hope to be future politicians) really enjoy twisting the spirit of the law and bastardizing the whole process in order to enhance their own fortunes and power. The have no interest in justice.

Tom Cruise film - Interview With A Vampire (based on the books by Anne Rice)It did not compare to the books, but then the books were long, tedious, and rife with unnecessary sex scenes.I don't mind vampires, as long as they don't "sparkle".

RoseS replied to Why are Republicans SHOCKED that Trump would cozy up with Dems and humiliate them? Did they really not know what they were getting? WHY?:
It wasn't political parties that got him elected. It was people. People want things done to better the country (not politicians). You may not care for him, heck I'm not crazy about him myself, but he is going to and does, get things done!

Beats me. Trump was hired to do a job and he'll work with anyone that will get that job done. If Republicans want to sit around with their thumbs up their butts saying they can't do anything, I agree, why are they surprised he moved on to someone who can?
