Because their function is to emit light that makes people passing by see them. Usually the light blink on and off in a coded sequence telling sea captains which lighthouse they are is seeing in the dark night.

How do you know they are not light, did you ever try to lift one ? The inflatable was lifting roughly 30ft in the air after a "sudden gust" ripped it from its moorings

Hey.....ts just so wrong to attempt to steal one .....plus where would you find a Fence willing to take it off your hands if you could ever get your fingers under it.....:)D
