Ours fly to Central America at the end of the breeding season...around the middle of September. But they always come back. Cute little buggers.

I shall check. Give me a few. You are correct. They live only in the Americas and Canada.

It's all to do with how many heart beats the animal has in its life.    Elephants are slow and live long....

May 11th isn't until next week, E. You're getting ahead of yourself!

I've not got my hb feeders out yet, but I know they're back here. I guess I need to get on it.

I have no feeders, just flowers ... and yes there are hummingbirds.  They love to flutter very close to me when I do yard work to see what I'm doing (nosy little buggers).

We also have a fuschia plant. They really go for that.

They love my gladiolas and are a bit fond of the morning glories (when in bloom).  Right now I have no clue what they're after as only the Dogwoods and iris are in bloom.  There used to be nests of them in my neighbors cedar trees that bordered my property.  Unfortunately, due to a tree disease, the trees had to be cut down.  Not sure where the hummers nest now.

    They like evergreens, especially spruce.

We have 2 species of humming birds here one species migrates for the winter the other species  doesn't.  The ones that migrate have been back for a mouth now and they really seen to like  the new swing I hung by their feeder. Cheers and happy weekend!
