What causes someone to constantly and hatefully obsess over someone on a daily basis ad nauseum?

    Not sure really but I am thinking perhaps they are lonely and have nothing more positive to do in their lives.  Maybe they feel somehow personally threatened or feel their values threatened.  Also as we become older we tend to become more vociferous in our values because we know we won't be around much longer to pass them on.
