We've covered this kind of thing before but... can you think of any words that are no longer much used?

Or used much if you prefer..  An e-friend likes to talk using old words...  He came out with apparel recently.. I love 'therewith, there art' - any more?

Ok so no way to prove it.. but I was going to say never heard of quaddle, If there isn't a word of that kind then you can patent it and become rich.

I invented the word 'plubby' 55 years ago. It is now in the Urban Dictionary. They define it as a chubby, overweight person. When my sister and I started using it, it meant something soft and squishy, but enclosed. Examples: a water balloon, a woman's breasts. This post was edited by Element 99 at June 19, 2018 3:26 PM MDT

Nice examples!  They definitely describe the true "feeling" of plubby.  :) :)

Hi Element~ I have a couple of guess as to what quaddle's definition might be:
A group of 4 people waddling around in the park, mimicking ducks.
A paddle used when people are developing their quads and aren't finishing all the sets.
A person becomes a quaddler when when they can waddle like a duck, which is a great work-put for their quads, catch the duck, get in the boat with the team of 4 and paddle to the finish line, drop the duck off, quaddle (which is a form of dog-paddling) back across the lake, and shake off the water.
Those are the possible definitions a quaddle I could think of ;) :)
I have another definition, too, but thought it not the time or place.
    :D!

    Quoz

I am told that in England a few hundred years ago a society of what we would call hippies developed. They lounged about the streets, and when passersby would scold them for their laziness, they would politely answer "Quoz." This greatly amused their fellow hippies, and the stuffed shirt had no idea what it meant. That's why they said it. It was something like the modern expression "Far out, man," but more all-encompassing.
