Would you rather be an expert in one thing or do many things adequately?

It would depend on what that ‘one thing’ is. If it were what I drew my livelihood from, then yeah, give me that.
If it were expertise in some useless discipline, like medieval Slavic folk songs, then I’d take the other option.

Hard to say. I am a semi-expert in lots of things...and know nothing of lots more. I'd have to go with the latter.

  • "Do many things adequately" ... it helps cut down your dependency on other people.

Always been an expert. Frustrating to see so many dilettante managers.

Why not try being mediocre at being an expert?

    Are those my only choices?
Hmmmm.  I think I would rather know a little bit about a lot of things so I can explore what I might like to be an expert at. This post was edited by Merlin at July 6, 2018 6:53 PM MDT

Honey not a matter of what I'd rather because I'm just trying my best to keep it all together.
