A mistake on a stamp cost the Post Office $3.5 million buckaroos. Wanna know why?
The dumbheads didn't use the ACTUAL Statue of Liberty in New York but the REPLICA statue outside of the New York New York Las Vegas Casino. Dumbheads at work. Took them awhile to figure it out. SIGH. Well dumb costs a lot of money.
If the imagine is outside in public view....anyone can take a picture of it. So unless they took an actual copyrighted picture owned by someone else ( casino or other) the picture should still have been able to be used. Or perhaps they could offer a usage fee to the owner of the copyright if that is the case.
I didn't think of that but I bet you're right Shuhak. The customer always pays for the mistakes of the business. That's the nature of capitalism isn't it? I think it is such an embarrassing error to make. They couldn't distinguish the real thing from a phony baloney replica. Typical! Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday! :)
Who cares what on a stanp as long as you can post a letter....The English use mostly franking machines if sending out loads of mail....Why such a Woo Ha over a soppy sq inch of sticky paper with a picture on it...:(
