The haters compared in your question are from different sides of the aisle, the former included White Supremacist groups; the latter are far more numerous and vocal and include nearly every demographic, except, most notably: white, non-college educated, Protestant, heterosexual Republicans AND White Supremacists.
It should be said that Trump has personally brought a lot of public disdain upon himself; I suspect it will continue, probably even grow, and result in his eventual relegation to Pariah-land.
