Do you think AL Capone might have been successful running for president if had decided to go into politics?

'Course he would have to abandon his 'business' enterprise career but he did seem like a pretty smart kind of man.

I think Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker would have a better chance.
They were actually viewed as heroes, to a large number of the public.

He seemed to be pretty efficient in his business enterprise;  never went bankrupt.

No, because in his time, Capone would have had to beat FDR, and no one did that.

One of the most important qualifications for the office is to know a lot of people, and to know them rather well. When you nominate somebody for something, your choice has to be pretty darn good on the first try.

Maybe he was pretty popular because he gave lots of money to soup kitchens during the depression. Cheers!

Compassion would be a good characteristic for a prez whereas the gift of blab and telling BS might work better in some situations.

    Too young---

In the 1940s, he became one of the first civilians to receive penicillin for syphilis, although it was too late to cure him. In January 1947, the 48-year-old Capone suffered a stroke then came down with pneumonia; he died at his Florida home on January 25.
