Nature. A babbling brook meandering through a lush green forest. A waterfall cascading over moss covered rocks into a pool below. Shafts of sunlight filtering through the canopy above, softly illuminating the forest floor below. Delicate flowers rich in vibrant colors stretch skyward, silently calling passing bees and butterflies to stop and drink of their nectar. In the shadows, mushrooms poke their caps out of the rich humus; Mother Nature's silent recyclers. Birds warble their enchanting songs high in the trees above, as the gentle breeze softly caresses the forest.
In 1962 I went to San Francisco to meet my gf's family and while I was there I bought a souvenir plate. Since then I have bought a plate wherever I went. This is the first time in fifty years that I have been able to display all my plates at one time.
OMG I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SONG!!! but never heard it by her.......
.NOW IF YOU WANNA HEAR another great version, look it up by Billie Holiday......she knocks me out with this song!!
and the most 'wistful' part of the lyric that I LOVE........'and I'm thinkin'......if you were mine......I"d never let you go.....and that would be but beautiful, I know....."...
gets me every time.
so PLEASE look it up by Billie; you'll love it just as much as I do!!!!!!!!!
:-D
(and hey, great minds really DO think alike, huh? LOL)
Walking in snow. Walking through woods in the fall or winter. Standing on a beach anytime. The laughter and play of children. The adrenaline rush of a long sought after accomplishment.
I find it beautiful to attend my meetings at my kingdom hall among my brothers and sisters of different races, colors, and social backgrounds. When I walk into these meetings I leave the outside world behind and step Into a world most don't believe exists. I can go to my meetings knowing I will come away spiritually refreshed and fortified to face the day to day challenges and hardships I may encounter.
