  • Well yes, because then men would be blamed for disobedience and falling for temptation - not women.

    And it would be a lot harder to claim that women were made out of Adam's rib as a helpmate, or that they were only worth half the value of a male because of their moral weakness to Satan.

    However, one might then wonder how the other people came to be outside Eden in order to breed some excess children for Adam and Steve to adopt. Maybe God could have arranged for them to beget children by heterozygous use of mechanical incubators. Or He could have made all men hermaphroditic and given each a kangaroo pouch with teats in it.

    That way one could do without women altogether. No one would have any excuse to blame the other sex.

    It would solve the problem of man being made in God's image, since a male god presumably could not also look like Eve.

    You are talking about a genre of science fiction called "alternate history". It can be anything your story telling skills can support.
