    phras·al verb
    'fraz?l v?rb/
    noun
    GRAMMAR
    plural noun: phrasal verbs
an idiomatic phrase consisting of a verb and another element, typically either an adverb, as in break down, or a preposition, for example see to, or a combination of both, such as look down on.

And you expected us to know that without looking it up?

Of course not!  You did exactly what I thought some of you might do, thanks.

It is very annoying to look up definitions because the copy & paste carries the goofy formatting, and it is almost impossible to exit that format. I did it once but I don't know how. Otherwise I have to paste it into my editor, which does not preserve the formatting, and then I can copy & paste from there. But I lose the nifty look of a Google definition.
