Good choice Welby. I was 9 years old when that film came out. The intense and surreal anxiety created by those children was over the top for a sensitive and impressionable kid. Sometimes the best horror is implied and not built on slash and gore.
I'm sorry, Thriftymaid! I just only now saw your answer! (I've talked with JA and she tried to help but for some reason I don't get alerts for questions I've asked, even though I always click on the box to be notified.)
I looked up the cast to that movie -- Harvey Stephens was young "Damien." Yes, creepy!!
I love the entire musical score to this movie! :)

I had heard that was a true story about Shirley MacLaine and her daughter Sachi Parker.

I hadn't heard that, interesting! I had only heard that the book's author William Peter Blatty had based the story loosely on a young boy's experience.
I only now, by chance, came across your post here. Sorry for being late to respond! :)
