Do you have a favorite title to a book?

Mine is "The Midwich Cuckoos" by John Wyndham

~ the book  is excellent -- was made into a movie first in 1960 (I believe), the black-and-white film "Village of the Damned"
~ both the novel and the original movie are excellent to me
~ Wyndham is one of my top five favorite authors

And all sorts of titles could fit in that book a bet - - a house title, a car title, etc.

  • "Naked Lunch" is a pretty great title, though admittedly I have yet to read it.

"Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" is one of my favorites. As is "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test".

I like all of those titles. Geez --  I can't even remember if I've read "Naked Lunch," but I've obviously heard of it and I know I held the book in my hands more than once. But if I can't remember it, I probably didn't read it.

I did read about the electric sheep.

    Not the Kool-Aid ,though.

A book from the 1940s I think about a couple living on a farm.  Not really farmers but they live on a farm.  Seems a pretty idyllic life to old suburban me.

You're welcome! After you posted your answer I've been thinking that the title seemed sort of familiar to me. Maybe I've heard of the book before but never knew what it was about.

Just the idea of a "northern farm" seems very homey and comfy to me.  Though of course would not be all fun and games. Nothing is.

I am fond of Wyndham myself... the Chysalids captured my imagination as a child..

I am going to choose one I read relatively recently.. I've mentioned it before.. The Serpent of Venice - loosely based on Merchant of Venice and something else..  Christopher Moore is a favourite author of mine - I love his wit.. I think he is American!
