I posted this question because people forget.  We do need to remind ourselves it is o.k. to have ego.  Society tells us to compare ourselves to our neighbors and peers.  We must be as good or better.  When, in all reality, we need to remember if we are doing and being the best we can every waking day, we ARE Beautiful and Handsome to everyone else, already.  The only thing that matters is you are proud to be you. 
When you do that the world is yours.  It is good to feel good about those things that make you.  You do need to know you have qualities you can offer the world.  You don't have to brag about them.  Just know that you are good and do good things with those qualities.
I have a nice smile.  I share that with others and in turn, they smile and so on and so and so on down the road. 
It is an easy thing that costs nothing.  
It is not boasting.  It is sharing a trait.  :) :)  It sounds like you are a great cook!  That would help everyone eat healthier.  McDonalds might not like you but a lot of people's bodies would be happy  if you would turn them on to something other than a quarter-pounder with cheese, fries and a coke. :) :)
