DEFINE RAPE?

Recently I saw in the paper where someone said that 'rape' was when someone touched you in an inappropriate place.

HUH?

to me, rape is PENETRATION by a man's dick into any bodily orifice belonging to either sex!!

well, wouldn't that be a good definition?

just groping & grabbing someone could hardly be considered 'rape' no matter how much it's not wanted.

soooo

whaddya all think?

lookin' forward to your replies!!!!!!

    Merriam Webster:

1: unlawful sexual activity and usually sexual intercourse carried out forcibly or under threat of injury against a person's will or with a person who is beneath a certain age or incapable of valid consent because of mental illness, mental deficiency, intoxication, unconsciousness, or deception — compare sexual assaultstatutory rape

    2an outrageous violation

3an act or instance of robbing or despoiling or carrying away a person by force

    - - -
So under the dictionary definition #1, sexual intercourse is not necessary.

Legally, it would depend on the jurisdiction. This post was edited by Walt O'Reagun at September 6, 2018 6:45 PM MDT

There doesn't have to be penetration for it to be rape.  It's forced and undesired sex (oral, vaginal, anal, breasts) with the victim(s).

All of the above answers are correct.

The issue of consent is crucial.

Check out this video with was produced for public education by the Thames Valley Police in London, UK.... it went viral around the world.
    Good thing too.
