What people say about themselves. Any insight into how they think or live.

I don’t look at them. How they interact with and treat people on here says way more than a profile. This post was edited by Rizz at September 20, 2018 10:58 PM MDT

    Savvy!

I think I prefer to look at both.

I guess I feel less sure of someone if there's no info there.

I never look at them but I have looked a couple of times to see if someone lives in the USA before correcting their English.

Does English-English look weird or wrong to you?

I rarely look at profiles but when I do... I might be looking to see how big their........ friends list is :P I get intimidated if there are too many

On Answerbag I used to periodically trim my friends list and delete all those had did not privately corresponded with me for some time.  On here there is very little private messaging and people seem content to publish everything for all to see.  So I no longer have any criteria.

    Interesting. I've noticed that too.
I wonder why so few messages - not enough similarities? past negative experiences?

I would say  just not enough people on here to find someone you can really get into something with. And yes there is a reticence among some people like they are protecting themselves.

    Hmm.
Yes, I think I might be less interested if there are too many too - like it's indiscriminate, not personal, real or sincere - something like that.

Very few on here write much in their profiles.  As opposed to AB where some people would write whole dissertations. So mostly if I look at a profile page it is to see if they are a man or a woman.  And have been quite surprised to find out some I assumed were men were not. On the rare occasions when I look at a profile, I'm looking to see he person's gender mostly.  Sometimes I check to see what they write about themselves.
