Discussion»Questions»Politics» If so many of us are sick and tired of our politicians why are the majority of them repeatedly voted in every two years?
Do we really get choices on the ballot? If I don't like the candidate in the party in which I'm not registered, I vote for my own candidate. In most cases, they are pretty much all alike - the difference being the party they represent.
Bingo. This is one that’s vexed me too. I wonder if many who complain don’t bother to vote, turned off to politics or feeling it’s futile.
I have a theory that the Dems were so sure in ‘16 that Hillary was a lock, that many stayed home. —This is in no way an endorsement of Clinton or Democrats.
One hopes the current climate motivates more voters to get involved.
Good question and one that goes beyond politics as such.. Politics with a capital P or something so they say is different to politics with a small p..
But anyway.. it is a vexing question isn't it.. My son, or someone else said it first that anyone who wants to stand to be a politician is automatically unsuitable..
I don't know the answer, (did you guess?) but I know that many a time when I have gone to vote I have been dismayed by the candidates.. same old, same old or people I have never heard of and clearly didn't think they needed to advertise who they were and what they stood for.
Because most of us are mediocre. We're all talk. We don't want to bother. It's just easier to complain than to do something about it. Plus, if politicians are actually effective and competent, whom do we blame our problems on then?
Most refuse to believe all politicians are inept and incapable of truly bringing about significant changes. The only one qualifying to change things is of divine origin. (Isaiah 9:6,7)
