I would like to believe I’m a good person overall. I’ve never committed a crime in my life. Not even as a child. I’m honest. I work a difficult, dangerou, and honest job. I treat people with respect unless I’m disrespected. I’m always honest. Usually to a fault. I donate time and money to local charities. I am a good and law-abiding citizen. I don’t judge or mistreat others due to their gender, ethnicity, religion, or sexual preference, only on the content of their character.
Back in the 80s, I was making a night deposit at a local bank. As I attempted to shove my bag of money into the slot, I encountered resistance and discovered someone else had plugged up the slot with their bag of money and checks. I pulled out their bag and opened it up. I copied down their name from a check. I then shoved both bags down the slot and made sure they were all the way down. I wrote a letter to the person and warned them not to do that again because the next guy may not be so nice. Am I a good person?
You certainly behaved honorably. I went to an ATM years ago and someone had left their credit card sitting on the shelf. The guy in line behind me tried to take it away from me saying he would be sure it got to its owner. I ran to the night deposit and quickly put it in there and told that guy to take five steps back away from me. Your answer made me remember that.
In one sense, fairly. I've never committed a crime. Most of the time I behave in a responsible and considerate way towards others and myself. My mistakes have been fairly minor and, so far, have been easy to remedy.
In another sense, not particularly. The good things I have achieved are fairly minor. I haven't devoted my life to doing good or trying to make a significant or beneficial difference in the world.
