Are you a smart aleck who does not read manuals?

Which manuals do you tend to ignore from the start, and which do you study intently?

    I used to be.
I have since realized that the pride of figuring out a product without the manual is nothing compared to the shame of screwing it up because I didn’t read the manual.

I kept thinking what pitchers mean in your sentence and then realised you mean pictures! I am the same way I like looking at the drawings especially for setting up things. Words make things only much harder.

A pitcher is just another name for a Jugg as is Ewers. :)D

I once was changing the light bulb for our planetarium at my last school and the manual was written in Japanese. I used the pictures and it was still confusing.
I don't like manuals written in English by someone who doesn't speak it very well.

I hear ya! I have a condiment from Japan written entirely in Japanese. I have no idea how to get the text translated online. Often have products written entirely in Chinese characters, annoys me too much as I cannot read a word of that too!

But you need a manual for changing a bulb? Then it's no normal bulb,

A very special bulb that must go in a certain way. I has special clamps and seals. I was fortunate enough to have the tools to do the disassembly. By the way, the problem wasn't the bulb. I never could figure out the problem. I was able to use the system twice in the four years I taught astronomy.

They no longer have manuals - we are supposed to get it all online.

I like em. I download them and keep them. They have tidbits on cool functions and may help in troubleshooting.

my last two crappy phones had none, only online discussion forums with other users. Not much point in that if no one participates/
