Tim Horton red cups make coffee taste too strong

  • I don't usually drink coffee when I'm away from home/bottled water.  SoCal tap water can ruin any cup of coffee, no matter what color the cup is!

Probably not for most people. Panhandlers say they collect more 'spare change' when they use a red coffee cup though.

That is an interesting trivial fact.  I would never have guessed that.  I would have thought a dirty one would do the trick more than a red one.

    Actually, I prefer Styrofoam™.

  • Ah. Watered-down coffee out of one of those vending machines is best experienced from a Styrofoam cup. You have to appreciate the finer things in life.

Our orthopaedics clinic has a high quality machine with paper cups. The coffee is so good, I'll give them a break on the cups. This post was edited by Element 99 at October 3, 2018 3:31 PM MDT

Styrofoam is OK for coffee but it makes booze drinks taste watery.

Oh Yaaaaaa!  You can bite on the cup.   You're right.  It does give it that twang to the taste of the coffee, too.

If you think color affects flavor, that's only in your mind and you're kidding yourself.

Why don't you use your own mug and save a tree?

I prefer drinking everything out of something made of glass. Even water tasts better in a glass.

I must admit. I've never given it a thought.  But if I had my druthers and could only drink it from a paper cup, I would say any "warm" color.  A warm brown with a cream color on the inside.  A burgundy with a cream on the inside....  Some cup of that nature.  I'm not sure if those colors would work with tea but with coffee I think they would.
