Does a musician you normally can't stand have one song you love?

Ed Sheeran for me

I very quickly tired of his music and songs but the first song I heard from him? I adore.

"The A-Team"

and the video is really powerful, too

Robert Plant had one good song as a soloist. (I forgot the title)  Otherwise, I dislike Led Zepelin.

I guess it means we can still be open to any music, even if we don't like the vast majority of the artist's stuff.

I've always liked this song. I'm unsure if I've heard other stuff from them. I think they're sort of hot, too.

Oh, wow! I love this! I've never heard this before.

I did a lot of driving today and this song is WAY better than most of the songs I heard on the car radio. And I only listened to radio stations I like and still, this song eclipses most of the songs I heard today.

What about a situation where I despise the  artist but like most if not all of his material?

  • I have some of his work.  Seems like I remember you saying that you don't like these guys either.

Are you kidding? I LOVE Men At Work!
** Smiles and gives Alf a Vegemite sandwich **
I'm incensed that a court found songwriter and flautist Greg Ham guilty of plagiarism, due to a chance (and very vague) resemblance between the flute riff and an old Australian children's folk song. Ham couldnt take it and suicided.

I despise Rolf Harris because he's a pedophile.

Tax dodger. That, I can live with, he might become President for that.

    Kiddie fiddling is unpardonable.

Funny song.  I saw Liberace live in the San Francisco area.  He put on a fabulous show, really enjoyed it.  At the end when he took a bow his tight pants ripped and showed his underware.  Never learned if it was on purpose or not.  He was great the audience was great.  He was quite a showman.

I've not heard of Harris but I enjoyed that cute funny song.
I remember when the "Down Under" song was in court. I had no idea about Ham, though. That's really sad.

I don't like that song, or Young's voice. I do like this one. Probably because Crosby, Stills and Nash are featured, and the subject is compelling.

Great song there. I love RITFWW, just not Neil or his voice. Pearl Jam plays it better in concert. I can’t post any videos of Pearl Jam playing live because they block people from being able to post any of their songs or performances from YouTube on websites.

I didn't recognize this song by just the title and Young. But now that I listen, I know this song. Yeah, it's a good one!

Go to YouTube and watch a few videos of Pearl Jam covering it. They make it even better.

Yes, I've been going to Youtube looking up songs people have mentioned. I will certainly look up Pearl Jam doing it. I might hit the hay in a bit, though, for tonight. I went to a killer extreme exercise class tonight that I regularly go to - - it was even tougher than usual.
    :)
But I'll remember to listen, thanks!

No worries and you’re welcome. Make sure you watch a live cover from the early 90‘s, the 200’s, and a recent live cover. They make the song the harsher and fiery. This post was edited by Rizz at October 5, 2018 7:35 PM MDT
