I formulate them using a combination of words and numbers which have some meaning in my life--e.g., my dog's name when I was a kid along with a portion of my drivers' license number.
It helps that I am neither dumb nor dumber.

all i have to remember is the password to my laptop lock-screen. i keep a complete list on my desktop. i change passwords constantly, and i keep the list up to date.

I write them down, which isn't always the best option. After a while I just memorize them all and barely look over at the paper. I still have all my passwords written down in case I forget them, which has happened before.
