  • Math.  It leaves a bad taste in my mouth.  Math is an acquired taste and I have no desire to go there.  So definitely no algebraic Lollipops.

I love math. Why is everyone so afraid of it?

  • Because numbers are scary, dude.  They tell us how broke we are, how late it is, how old we're getting.  LOL!  Oh yeah, and because 7 ate 9.  You gotta watch yourself around numbers.

Aluminum flavor would be pretty bad especially if you had tooth fillings the 2 metals and the salt in the saliva would make an electrical charge that would go to the tooth roots. Cheers!. This post was edited by Nanoose at October 17, 2018 8:18 AM MDT

  • Terrible flavor for anything, I'd imagine, but great avatar. Harold and Maude is such a wonderful and quirky flick!!

  • Yes, it's a great little gem of a movie. One that I have never grown tired of watching.  I love Ruth Gordon.  She was a comedic genius.  I believe she was a writer for I Love Lucy as well. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at October 20, 2018 9:02 AM MDT

  • That is cool, designer.   The scene on the Bay was shot in the town I grew up. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at October 20, 2018 9:20 AM MDT

    Ahhh...the old Dumbarton bridge...
The tree they took was in front of the Redwood City hall..

  • I lived on the Fremont side, and I lived in Newark too.     Yes, the old Dumbarton Bridge.   I remember when it used to look as it did in the movie.  So much has changed.   Did you live in that area?   On the RWC side?

Yes...I grew up in Menlo Park..I was there to watch the old bridge being demolished...I now live in Woodside, which sits above Redwood City..
Its funny, I drive down Sand Hill rd. a few times a week and often wonder where exactly the "picnic" scene was filmed, as it was filmed on that road near 280...

  • I loved Woodside when I was a kid.   I had some friends who lived there, and I always thought it was such a pretty town.     I haven't been to Newark/Fremont, or the other side of the bay in ages.  I would probably get lost now if I tried to drive around there without GPS.  Funny how back then I think I could have driven it blindfolded, because I knew the area like the back of my hand.   I wasn't aware that the picnic scene was filmed on Sand Hill Road.   I live about 90 minutes from there now.  My brother used to work at the wildlife refuge on the Fremont side of the bridge. Hello Lavender
Woodside is probably the only town on the peninsula that still looks and feels as it did 20 years ago. I love it here
Menlo Park on the other hand is almost unrecognizable
All that landfill on the west side of the dumbarton is now home to Facebook and other tech buildings, it is amazing...

  • Yes, I have heard that.  My niece works out there.  So many changes, even Newark has changed quite a bit from what I hear.   Happy to hear the Woodside has been spared though.

I dont think I could live in the bay area if Woodside and the surrounding area wasnt here...
The one change I have seen over the years here is the crowds that come up during the weekends...Between the bicyclists and the motorcycles and car clubs, our little roads get quite crowded and accidents are commonplace on the weekends..

  • Yes, and unfortunately it's that way everywhere. I used to live in Pleasanton, and every weekend there seemed to be either a car show or some event at the fairgrounds, which meant people parking all over our street and more traffic in general. The freeway used to be mellower during the weekend, but now it's stop and go every day.   Then up here in Nor Cal, I-80 is 24/7 stop 'n go.   It sucks.
