It's the salt.  Anything salty I migrate toward.  I'm not a big fan of the consistency in my mouth but the salt wins me over every time.
I say with deep felt guilt, "Yes.  I can eat a whole can within a one-movie sitting."

I even sort of like the consistency. I like everything about them. Unfortunately.

    Ha!
    :)

I rarely, if ever, eat during a movie. But they'd be a good non-messy snack while watching.

I'm really not sure if there is any semblance of potato in them.  They are kind of like Velveeta Cheese.  They both are completely non-food, foods.  However, that has never stopped me from grabbing a can or a block.  :) :)

    Ha!

I just looked on my can here -- yes, of course I'm eating them at this moment! - - the first ingredient on the can is "DRIED POTATOES."  Yes ,they're all upper-case letters. They must be shouting to us that, yes, contrary to popular belief, there are potatoes in these things.

They are made from instant potato flakes...which are potatoes. And legally they are called potato CRISPS...they are not allowed to call them chips because of a lawsuit. Lol.

Goodness the 1970s in a can!  They were just awful but I think we all ate them at times.  No more thank God.

Ha! Your answer made me smile!
I certainly eat my share here in the Twenty-Teens.

  • I remember when they first came out, and how much I loved grabbing a stack and chowing.  Or, taking two and positioning them in my mouth like a duck's bill.     I don't eat that kind of food anymore, but even if I did it would always been regular Lay's for me.

A duck's bill?  Now that is creative!  Did you get in trouble for playing with your food? :) :)

  • Haha no.   My dad was my "weirdness" inspiration, and I think he must have known what he was getting when they had me.  :p

Yeah, those original Lay's are good. I probably would choose the Pringles over them, though.
I don't know -- the Pringles just seem to go down so easily.

I eat them every now and then, not very often at all. They're not a favorite of mine, nor do I find them repulsive.

  • Dang!  That can has some nice length and girth to it.  A thing of beauty.
