Are you feeling caught between Scylla and Charybdis?

Sorry, it's a not-so-common idiom that I really like. I think most people are familiar with it from the Police song, "Wrapped Around Your Finger." Anyway, I think of that song when I hear that expression.

Yeah, it's difficult being in a situation where there is no "one good" outcome. I guess everything eventually works itself out. Or not.

Oh, wow! I've been enlightened several times in the last hour here in answerMug and it's happened again!

-- here I thought I knew that song but I must not know it so well as I thought! I didn't know those two were included in the lyrics to that song! And I really enjoy The Police! I don't think I've heard that idiom. If I have, it probably went right over my head.

Yes, sometimes those can't-win-for-lose situations are tough to go through.

I hope you can forgive me for failing to keep in touch. I've not kept up with many. My dad died at the end of last year and all sorts of things revolving around  that. Things still seem wild around me.
