Social conservativism is one of the primary forces that drives people away in hordes from the republican party.
Societies that depart from it are in severe danger of complete collapse.
I beg to differ on that aspect. Ancient Roman, Greek, and other societies varied differently in regards to monogomy and their ideas on marriage. Their societies lasted much longer than those that are in existance today.
The danger of a society collapsing is much more related to income, class, and racial disparity
What laws are there, other than ones I hear about as "still on the books" but not known or enforced? I could only think of the prostutution law
Alabama, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas and Utah all still have anti-sodomy laws on their books
They do, but they are unenforceable after SCOTUS ruled in Lawrence v. Texas (2003).
The laws should be removed. Sexual activities between consenting adults is neither the government's business, nor anyone elses's.
I have to agree with Bozette on this one, you could be a little more specific about what you're referring to. Unless you're just stating in general that Republicans are kinda hypocritical about saying "less government, less regulation" unless it's about regulating something they don't like. In which case, DUH.
Hello again, Capn:
I dunno.. The government involvement in birth control DOES effect my sex life.. I'm glad it doesn't yours.. Allowing a business to discriminate against people BECAUSE of their sex life IS regulating their sex life...
