How would we feel if our leaders made this statement: "nation-states must today be ready to give up sovereignty"?

Speaking at an event organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Berlin on Friday, Merkel declared, "In this day nation-states must today - should today, I say - be ready to give up sovereignty."

Could this be Germany's call for their 4th reich?

Sounds like the open borders front to me.

What leaders?  I don't have leaders I follow.  I have an employer and a husband and I follow most of the laws that I am aware of.  They are the only ones who can tell me what to do.  Politicians are not "leaders" but representatives.  Unless someone is elected who does not represent me.  Then I have no elected representatives.

    The fourth Reich or Gexit?

How do you feel about it? What are your thoughts?

She was taking shots about Brexit but yes I believe Germany will try to expand again. It is prophecy.

I would not be happy at all if USA leaders were talking about giving up our sovereignty. They do some now with open borders etc but they can not usually just come out and say it as plainly as Merkel just did.

Telling countries that they should give up their sovereignty is enough reason for every country in the EU to abandon the EU or lose themselves to Marxist socialism which in turn can only become communism. World war 2 brought about the League of Nations which later became the UN, there is already a world parliament, this is the globalist agenda. I am so sick of people telling us what we should be doing, when my Grandfathers fought in world war 2 for the sovereignty of my country, to protect Christianity and what was deemed as the greatest risk to our civilisation.

These two links are certainly worth the watch if you want to see how we have been indoctrinated in to our current thinking, or at least the young have. There is nothing progressive or forward thinking about it, it is mind control.

I believe in the project of a sovereign Europe. We won’t protect Europe if we don’t decide to have a true European army.

We have to have a Europe that can defend itself alone — and without only relying on the United States in a more sovereign manner.

We should protect ourselves when it comes to China, Russia and even the United States of America.

Guess who prompted this FEAR?  TAKE A GUESS.

Good for you, Angela.  She don't trust the USA.  GUESS WHY?

A lying snake is in the Oval.  This is not only Merkel, but TRUMP's ex=best friend, from France.  Every one in Europe is responding to an imbecile who cannot govern his own tweets, lives by Sean Hannity's advice and is generally mentally ill.

    We all see it.

I pity someone who can try this tact when her hero is set to face about 80 indictment charges just on
    obstruction of justice.

Why are you worried about the state of NATO now?  Why?  We have a total moron trying to deflect all the garbage that is coming to roost.

    I cannot wait for January.

    HOORAY ANGELA.

We have the 4th Reich at the border and infiltrating any person who tries and fight Trump.

He is a horror story.  A bum. And Angela Merkel is spot on.  RETORT ANGIE.  GO GIRL.

Who is she to tell other countries to sacrifice their sovereignty?

If Europe wants an army they should have one. I don't care at all. In fact, they should be able to defend themselves. US should not have to be the police of the world.

In the present case, the same way we feel any other time the current incompetent “leadership“ says something deranged and counterproductive.

The full title of the EU is something like "The European Union of the Cities and Regions". Says it all, really.

It's wrong though to say Germany wants to run Europe. It does not want a "Fourth Reich".

It's people within the EU's central bodies who want to do that, by turning the Union into a de facto single nation run mainly by the Council of Ministers and the European Commission. (Its so-called "Parliament", isn't one.) And the notion was there almost from the start, even before Edward Heath falsely called the European Economic Community, a "Common Market" of independent states.

However, Germany is one of the four main bankrollers of the EU, perhaps the largest; the others being Italy, France and Great Britain (hence the EU's dislike of our leaving), though I don't know the relative proportions of contributions.  That may mean Germany wants to be top dog in the EU pack, even if not top dog in the geographical rather than political entity of Europe.
