Well, that would be better than what is really happening. THEY BELIEVE THEIR OWN BALONEY. They drank the kool-aide and there is no turning back for most of them.
The barely educated, ill-informed and easily misled. Racist, redneck and pawn of Fox News. Little traveled, unsophisticated, and xenophobic. Conspiracist, selective listener, and blindly partisan. Peddlers of alternative facts, liars and science deniers.
...and those willingly under Trump’s employ, and his relatives.

I attended one of the most elite public high schools in the US and hold degrees from two Ivy League universities.
I am quite well-informed and, as you know, not easily misled.
Being in a mixed-race marriage, I am anything but racist.
Born and raised in NYC, so cross off redneck.
Never watch Fox News, so no pawn am I.
I have traveled often, both within and outside the US.
I have extensive musical training and immersion in the arts, so unsophisticated is out.
I have had friends and classmates throughout my life from several foreign countries, so cross off xenophobic.
I don't believe in or subscribe to conspiracies. For example, I believe it likely that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone and that the moon landings actually happened.
In elections, I vote all over the ballot for candidates of various parties, except, of course, in Democratic primaries as I am a Democrat.
See where I am going with this? I check NONE-ZILCH-ZERO of the boxes on your little list that stereotypes those who disagree with you - stereotypes which, BTW, make you seem rather bigoted yourself. And yet, while I stop short of defending President Trump, whom I neither voted for nor particularly like, I wonder why, as I asked in my answer to this question, Comey has declined to say if the FBI had reason to believe that candidate Trump was working with the Russian government to influence the 2016 election? If they have the goods on Trump, why would he not say so in testifying before two House committees?
IMO, the elephant in the room is that Trump is going on two years in office. Despite all these accusations being thrown around by BLINDLY PARTISAN folks such as Rosie, Sharonna, and yourself, why has nothing substantive surfaced or been proven? Do you believe it's some sort of conspiracy? If so, wouldn't that make you a CONSPIRACIST?
I eagerly anticipate your response. This should be good!
So you admit you neither bash Comey, nor defend Trump. To your credit. Then NONE of what I listed applies to YOU, does it? In fact, Stu, your impressive credentials effectively prove my point.
I readily admit my position against one I recognize as a villain, a truly despicable moron disgracing the country, and the Presidency. That you choose to take a softer position is your choice. Maybe you dislike my calling the President a moron, or his supporters Fox News pawns and racists (as some surely are). We’ll just have to disagree on the stridency of our positions.
(Btw, I rate Rosie as another moron, raving in the opposite direction)
I don’t subscribe to conspiracies either; when numerous and varying investigations are steadily passing muster in the courts, I don’t consider them conspiracies. They demonstrate validity to patterns of behavior. Behavior that is thrust into our view by the man himself, and reaffirmed by him on a near-daily basis. Neither party has effectively dealt with it as yet. So much for blind partisanship.
I responded to your other point below.

OK, no need to defend President Trump. But at the same time, is it not reasonable to wonder why Comey, when testifying before the House Judiciary and Oversight committees, declined to say if the FBI had reason to believe that candidate Trump was working with the Russian government to influence the 2016 election? If the FBI has the goods on the guy, why would Comey not say so?
Easy one, Stu. The facts in this matter had not been determined at the time of Comey’s testimony (and still aren’t), as an FBI Director, Comey would know better than to risk commenting speculatively on future or on-going investigations, or to assert allegations he himself lacks the data to support. But this is what Mr Trump does. Damn near every day. Because he is a raving, egomaniacal moron. Messrs Comey, Mueller, et al, are very clearly not morons.
This is why there is a serious legal question of whether Trump obstructed justice, which IMHO, he has, beyond any question.
Trump’s position worsens by the week, and he brings it all on himself.
But I put it to you that looks can be deceiving. I sincerely believe that an actual, honest-to-goodness moron would be incapable of doing what it takes to be elected to the presidency. After all, consider all the capable and intelligent folks who run for the office but fail. Do you really believe that every one of them could be defeated by a moron? Is it not possible that Trump merely lets people THINK he's a moron?

In response, I cite the case of George W Bush. A different species of moron, a nice guy, but a guileless stooge, who got elected and then re-elected. It has happened before.
I won’t entirely dismiss the “method to his madness” analogy you make with Trump, but the backstory isn’t there to give it much credence, or hope. Some biographical research may reveal the trail of iniquity the man has so often left in his considerable wake.
Inasmuch as Trump continues to lash out and insult and degrade any and every dissent, real or imagined; repeatedly undermines his own positions, and those of his underlings; disrespect the rule of law; ceaselessly lie and make false claims; demonstrate no talent for governance, no grasp of the Legislative process, and yet proclaim his own incomparable greatness, he has indeed provided a convincing act of moronity as yet unequalled in our history. That, I‘ll give you. :)
The other thing about Comey's testimony is that if the FBI had anything on Trump and he said what he said under oath, then he would be commiting perjury. Why would he do that? Self incrimination doesn't apply since Comey isn't being charged.
