Ya I'm torn - the commercials for the new movie look pretty cool but I figure if I go see  it I'll be cheating on Mary (I was in love with Mary Poppins when I was a kid). Cheers and happy 2 more sleeps till Christmas!

I do not believe it is necessary, especially in the age where Hollywood is absolutely obsessed with splattering everything with CGI (computer-generated imagery).

Do we REALLY need another A Star IS BORN?

At least the New Mary Poppins movie has a scintilla of acting talent and someone who knows how to direct.

  • I've never watched the original to begin with, no plans to, nor any remake.  I never watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang either.  Maybe it's just something about Dick Van Dyke.

What's it to you? Is anybody forcing you to go see it? No need to get your panties in a bunch over it.

What if everyone answered each of your questions with "what's it to you?"

You make it seem as if there's something wrong with having asked the question.

No, I just don't understand why someone gets so worked up about something he can choose to ignore.

If that's your stance, couldn't you have followed your own standpoint and just  chosen to ignore this post entirely?

My wife and I are going to see it on Christmas day. It got fine reviews, and I think it will be as delightful as the original.

Checking in after coming home from seeing the film. The theater was packed and it was every bit as enjoyable and delightful as the original. Great music, animation, and lots of laughs and tears. If you don't like it for some odd reason and don't wish to see it then that's your problem, but don't presume to tell the rest of us how "ridiculous" it is and that we shouldn't see and enjoy it.
