Why satellites, internet, smart phones? What do you think?

There is no increase in knowledge among people who think they already know everything.

Here's a flash for you: God doesn't care about your pathetic gadgets. Psalm 12:6 "The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times." When God says knowledge, that means what God chooses it to mean, which is purer than what mankind chooses. If you want to know what 'knowledge' means to God you look up every usage of the word in the bible. There are 169 uses, and after you read those verses you have a chance to know something more than what you already thought you knew.

OK thank you for your opinion. I agree that we need to learn what God is teaching us. IIt takes knowledge to know what God means in the Bible. I don't agree that God doesn't care about technology, nor that they are "pathetic". Jesus says "You can do nothing without me"  It takes knowledge to  create  technology like email, telephones, texting, TV, Videos, streaming, and satellites. I believe that this is God given knowledge to get the gospel out to 7 billion people fast. If we ask for wisdom and truth God has promised us to give us wisdom and truth. God is good to us. Are we good to him?

The question is, why would people say that God said that?

I say God said that. I am unpopular because I say that. The reason I say that is because I love you. If I didn't I wouldn't bother. Why did people write the Bible and say that God spoke to them (like Moses). Because God did speak to him. How do we know? Because of all the prophesies that have come true. Only God knew the future.

The Swedish government became Christian after Pagan period a thousand years ago when they were sacrificing people and hanging them in the trees (same place I grew up where most of the rune stones are) Sweden went from hating people to loving people. It has  been  peaceful for a thousand years. Only God can change a person completely. The government has never abused it's people. The Swedish government was not catholic with it's superstitions. Luther reformed Europe. God blessed Europe and it became industrialized and knowledge has increased tremendously. Why did the government become Christian? Because God moved one mans heart at a time. When my heart changed I was different. I have only one agenda and that is to be pleasing to God. God tells us to tell people about the hope we have in Him. How do I know that God said that? Because he changed my heart and he speaks to my heart. The apostles witnessed Jesus raising people from the dead and were willing to die for witnessing. Why would they die for a lie?

I really want people to understanding that this life is very short and eternity is forever. I want you to go to heaven. I want you to have joy and peace and know that God has your back if you pray to him.

You are unpopular because you seem to blindly, uncritically repeat what others have said about the bible, and you talk as if it's a foregone conclusion that it's literally the word of God. When people tell you that they don't believe in God, or that the bible is a divine artifact, you just ignore all that and insist that God will be mad if they don't believe. That's why you're unpopular, because thinking people don't like unthinking people preaching at them about what this or that imaginary entity is going to do if they don't believe.

As for prophecies, it's very easy for human beings to write prophecies that later appear to come true. All you have to do is write something vague enough, with no specific timeline, that's likely to happen at some point in the future. People who want to believe in such things will always find an event that "fits", and claim that the author knew it all along.

As for Sweden, it was human beings who decided to adopt a certain belief system, and a certain way of life. That's what makes a human being change: what they choose to believe. Anyway, Sweden is a secular country now, has been for decades, and I don't see anybody swinging from trees so far, even though most Swedes are non-believers now.

God said that because of his plan to inspire scientists... like Darwin to make discoveries to help bring mankind out of the dark ages of ancient mythological beliefs and to realities of natural phenomena.

But also as a sign that Jesus will soon come so we can be ready, and not be deceived by false prophets. Matthew 24

3"As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

4Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8All these are the beginning of birth pains.

9“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

15“So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’a spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. 18Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 19How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. 21For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.

22“If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. 23At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25See, I have told you ahead of time.

26“So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.

29“Immediately after the distress of those days

“ ‘the sun will be darkened,

    and the moon will not give its light;

the stars will fall from the sky,

and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’b

30“Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earthc will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.d 31And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

32“Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33Even so, when you see all these things, you know that ite is near, right at the door. 34Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

    The Day and Hour Unknown

36“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,f but only the Father. 37As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

42“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

45“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. 47Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’ 49and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

You don't believe in evolution of the human brain?

I am very interested in the human brain and I study new research daily.

I believe that evolution is Satans lie. Darwin was not a real scientist with formal training, but his theory sure took off because people don't want to believe in the Bible. God created the heavens and the earth. God said that he created man on the sixth day and he rested on the seventh day. I believe it. I don't want to disappoint God at all. What he thinks of me means everything to me.

This life is a test and then there is eternity in heaven if we pass the test to love God and people.Satan comes as a light to entice us away from God. So please be careful.

Are we to judge our maker, no God forbid! God makes the rules. We are miserable sinners. Our best work it says in the Bible are like dirty rags. We can never appease God with anything we do. To be obedient and keep his commandments and always be loving is expected but we can't even do that.

We can never go to heaven because of our deeds. It is because of Jesus deeds we can enter heaven.

"By grace are you saved, through faith, and THAT not of yourselves, it is a gift from God."

I don't need to worry about being saved because there is a total lack of any convincing evidence to support belief in a God.

Any argument to say there is a God only can ever conclude to say "there MUST be a God BECAUSE...."

Dunno how anyone can become so convinced supernatural /God exists.

  • Yet here you are using a "pathetic gadget" and one reasonably suspects you have many more.  The best of knowledge is human knowledge.  The hard work of dedicated men and women eradicated small pox and near so of polio, both god created diseases.  Whooping cough, parasites in water, cholera, created by god and mitigated by humans.  Eye glasses for our not so perfect eyes.  Which knowledge benefits one more, OTC and prescription analgesics or the supposed virgin birth?  Cardio surgery or the second coming?

  • One can reasonably put it aside.  Christians have been waiting 2,000 years for this event.  Perhaps it is time to admit it is spurious.
