When have you ever been delighted to be sacked?

I don't get sacked, I get retrenched, laid off, made redundant or involuntarily retired.

I was sacked only once, and that was good. Today, I could probably buy the company that sacked me. I am not rich, but now have wealthy friends who have offered to finance me if I wanted to buy a business.  I am near retirement age so I won't get into any businesses.
