Do you ever worry about losing a finger, like that guy who got drunk with my dad at the legion while I waited in a cab?

Cos if you lose a finger on your hand shaking hand, you can never meet anyone new again...:

    Nope never worried about that. I do worry about losing a toe though because my guy is a foot lover, especially mine. I couldn't decide which one he could no longer kiss. I could give him the finger if I wanted to.

    I don't shake hands at all.
    Far too many men are proud of their "firm" handshake
    which translates to excruciating pain for me due to arthritis in my finger joints.

  • I don’t care much for shaking hands either. Mostly cos when meeting someone, I don’t know what their personal hygene habits are or where their hand was   5 minutes before meeting them.

    Good point. 
    I didn't think of it perhaps because of aged care nursing training - hand washing after just about everything became an automatic habit.
    But in hospital circles, it's well known that many people are slack about it.
    It would be one of the main ways to transmit colds and flus.

    I do worry about it a tiny bit but mostly I worry about losing a leg - I do a lot of chain saw work. Cheers and Happy New Year!

  • Never? I did once and it’s great. A glass of wine there is only $3 a glass. The only down side is your only choices are red or white. But by the end of the night, at $3 a glass you won’t care if it’s a merlot or CabSab. So that’s nice.
