What's a piece of furniture or a type of furniture that you can/could build from scratch, either alone or with help? ~

Back when plywood was cheap I built a lot of cubes, some for my own use, some for my employer's equipment. He was so impressed that he hired me to make cubes to hold his wife's book collection. 

That was also back when I was young and strong. When I needed shelves for my plate collection, I spent a lot of time looking for something else. I finally found these wire display cubes:




In 1962 I went to San Francisco to meet my gf's family. While I was there I bought a souvenir plate. After that, everyplace I went I bought the plate. This is the first time In my life that I have been able to display the entire collection at the same time. I have 108 pieces.

Almost anything apart from complicated chairs........I've helped my dad and grandparents construct so many things in his joinery shop and it's really not that hard with the tools and machines that are available nowadays....

I have built a workbench and stool to go with it and a large picnic table. I also built two very heavy-duty loft beds that will probably be around for 100 years.
