  • Probably because it's hard for them to shut down their greed for green. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at January 31, 2019 8:46 PM MST

  • If I remember correctly, he made an anti Semitic remark, and he called a woman cop, "Sugar T*ts".    I believe my mom was a big Gibson fan up to that point.

Lol....they both need thicker skins I think...I've been called far far worse than that and  I never get offended really....
I find it effects the ones that say things far far more then it effects me....plus if your quick with the lip it often makes them look so foolish....lol

  • I agree.  I thought it was kind of funny calling her that. The dude was drunk, that is rather mild compared to what he could have said.

    I wouldn't say it's rude ....it's quite a nice friendly remar if it's said a a cheeky greeting.....it's not like they are unnoticeable and it's not really a crude Re'Mark either .....
i find it best to roll with comments like that and out wit them gracefully........Most  guys are polite when they say things like that.....It's not offensive and I always thank them and smile......more often join in once someone starts the ball fooling.....lol

  • Probably to stay relevant.  And, often these celebrities aren't as rich as we think they are.  They live an extravagant lifestyle .. and that takes a lot of cash to sustain it.

  • To some people, celebrities are everything ... very relevant.  I don't share that view.

    Guessing several possibilities:
they might be poor money managers and need the income to support their lifestyle,
their agents may think it's good for their professional profile to stay constantly in the public eye when between jobs,
some may be narcissistic and thus prefer any attention rather than none
they may have a work ethic,
they may genuinely believe in the product, service, campaign or charity,
or it might be an add for one of their own businesses.

I was just thinking about this, with regard to Matthew McConaughey's Lincoln commercials. I was thinking that maybe he donates it all to charities, but I know that's highly unlikely.

Like others have suggested, I'm guessing it's to increase their fame and fortunes.

To make money, to keep working.  Both of which they no doubt enjoy,
