  • Awww, Dr Don D Rose.  He was great. I can still hear the "610  KFRCeeee" jingle in my head.   Do you happen to remember Pat McCormick and Charlie and Humphrey?  Another favorite of mine.

  • I loved Creature Feature with Bob Wilkins.. that was always fun to watch.   I don't remember the program with the clown. I even tried Googling it, but I couldn't find it. How fun for your brother though.    That reminds me of Romper Room with Miss Mary Ann.  They filmed it in Oakland, and I always wanted to be one of the kids.   Dialing For Dollars!  My dad loved that show.   Wow, I had forgotten all about that one.

  • The very end, when he backs out of the drive way and the message appears, "Be Back Monday" seems vaguely familiar to me.   Looks like a great, retro show though.

I still listen to AM radio occasionally. I prefer the ABC cricket commentary to the drivel on TV.

I use it as a lightning detector. I dial up a blank area and it can pick up lightning long before it gets there.

FM = Frequency Modulator, I think.  I don't know how it works but it got rid of a lot of static from lightning and improved reception in tunnels, parking garages etc.  I google it and come back with the complete, correct answer.

A frequency modulator is the device that does the modulation, therefore, he was partially correct.

  • Sure I remember that.  We used to listen to Uncle Larry Lujack on WLS radio in Chicago.  Oh and I can't forget Chicken Man aka Benton Harbor ... WCFL in Chicago!

I think there has been FM since 1940 or so. My parents sometimes listened to show music and classical in stereo in the 1960s.  I probably did not listen until I left home in the mid 70s and got with people who liked it.

A more apt question would now be does anyone remember AM radio?
