For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord; and there is none else.

But I don't think "dystopia" is the word you wanted.

... well ... it could be post-apocalyptic, from the point of view of a dinosaur.

    LOL

By what logic can we conclude that the earth, which is covered 71% by WATER, was created FOR man, who has no gills...

    So, NO.
There is no evidence for, nor need of a designer in explaining the earth’s origin. Man emerged billions of years later, after 99% of all species that ever lived had already died out.

Whatever human dystopia we may surmise can usually be sourced to man’s own kind; his vanity, misunderstandings, and farcical beliefs.

    Heheh.
I hadn’t really thought of you as THAT ”designer”.
    Pray forgive my impertinence. Regards.

Well as a fellow unabashed atheist, I agree with your answer in total..
Whatever dystopia, or Utopia we have is of our own doing and is ours to enjoy or curse

    Not IMO.

I accept the science that the best hypothesis is that earth was not and could have been designed.
Rather it is the natural result of physics and evolution.

The dystopia for humans stems from our own minds.
In accordance with our evolution in nature, we are and must be capable of feeling pleasure and pain,
Pleasure rewards the first drives to breathe, learn, work, find shelter, procreate etc.
Pain punishes the foolish action - the reaching for a coal in the fire -
or motives a change such as seeking rest.
However, our minds can easily become addicted to seeking pleasures and avoiding pains
in ways that are contrary to our long term well-being.
For instance, unethical behaviours, especially when habitual, usually lead to suffering.
Being lost in interpretations of reality,
rather than seeing things through the senses as they really are,
is one of the most common sources of distress, depression and neurosis.
For instance, ego. Most of us are identified with who we think we are - and if we perceive someone else as insulting our self-image - all of a sudden we're in a rage, taking umbrage, whether we admit it openly or carry it into private to lick our wounds and nurse our resentments.
Wrongly interpreting our perceptions, mistaken thinking, is the root cause of dystopia.

Which means it is within the power of each of us to learn how to be happy.
