Not really. I've seen some like that and they just can't hold their liquor.

Nope. I've only freaked out once - somebody substituted psilocybin mushrooms for regular ones as a practical joke. Half an hour later the living room carpet started chasing me.

    Complex to answer.

"Freaking out" = Behave or cause to behave irrationally and uncontrollably, with enthusiasm, excitement, fear, or madness.

Drunks often behave irrationally or uncontrollably because alcohol relaxes normal social inhibitions.
Some people drink for precisely that reason; they want to feel less inhibited.

"Beyond belief" depends on whether a person accepts the evidence of what they witness.
From my point of view, nothing, no matter how unusual or extraordinary, is beyond belief if the evidence is there.

It depends on how much alcohol has been consumed,
and for how long the person has been frequently drinking too much.
    For many drinkers the habit develops slowly;
they are under the illusion that they are in control of their drinking habits
and are unaware that it is the addiction which is now controlling them.

Anger can be a form of excitement, especially for angry young men.
Certainly violent rages could be described as a form of madness.

Some drinkers tend to become angry and work themselves up into violent rages when drunk -
but the next day they will have zero memory of what they felt, said or did. My father was one such.

Alcohol prevents the absorption of B vitamins, which leads to brain damage, including memory loss.
The brain never records the experiences - and therefore there is "nothing" to remember.
The period of what happened while drunk is literally a blank.
If told, they are likely to not believe it unless presented with video footage or other evidence.

Advanced alcoholism leads to Korsakoff's dementia - which can cause frequently irrational behaviour.
At its worst in some people it can cause hallucinations and paranoia.

The average person who has 1-3 drinks over 1-3 hours and doesn't do it very often is highly unlikely to freak out due to the alcohol.

But the person who has been drinking excessively and frequently for a long time is highly likely to have developed some serious problems with anger. They are unlikely to be aware of how seriously their behaviour is affecting those around them until some major emergency or tragic event occurs.

Some people don't really handle it at all well and its like their whole personalities change. Like they can't handle the chemicals and they get crazy vicious.  Some people are fun drunks, some people silent or happy drunks, but some people really go crazy and act out and have to be controlled.  You never know until you experience that and then you need to know enough to stay away from them when they are drinking because they could do almost anything and they just don't care.  So they often end up in trouble.

Alcohol is a poison. You may react to it depending on how much you guzzle.
