I made pudding tonight. I filled the wok with water and put the grill from a computer fan in the bottom to make a double boiler.
After a while I noticed that my brew was not going above 180F. It has to get all the way to boiling. So I stirred it and found a thick layer of pudding at the bottom of the pan. So I got the wok out of the way and put the pan directly on the burner and stirred like I really meant it. Eventually it got up to boiling, but it still had wisps of goo floating throughout because it overcooked on the bottom.
I've been making baking potatoes all my life and I always pierce them with a fork before putting them in the oven. There has never been any incidents until last week when a potato exploded in the oven. I'm not sure this counts as me 'messing up'. I blame the potato.
